Janesville Craig's baseball team remains in first place in the Big Eight Conference. The Cougars softball team is trying to get back to the top after a couple losses to Sun Prairie.

In the Rock Valley, Jefferson is in a heated race to fend off Evansville, with the teams meeting next week to potentially decide the champion.

Indeed, as quickly as the spring high school season seems to have started, we've already started to reach the home stretch of the baseball and softball seasons.

Heck, even conference track and field and golf meets will kick off the spring postseason later this week.

Gazette sports editor Eric Schmoldt and writer John Barry do their best in this episode of Xtra Points to keep you up to date as things progress quickly.
