Beloit native Tanner Polglaze helped the Janesville Jets earn a weekend sweep Saturday night.

Polglaze scored one goal and assisted on two others as Janesville beat visiting Kenai River 5-2 at the Janesville Ice Arena.

The Jets won with a late goal Friday night but needed no such drama one night later.

David Schmidling and Chris Dodero scored first-period goals—both off assists from Polglaze—to grab a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes in.

Janesville’s lead ballooned to 4-0 midway through the second, and Polglaze’s shorthanded goal—the Jets’ second shorty of the night—made it 5-1 at with less than two minutes remaining in the period.

Jacob Barczewski stopped 28 shots to earn the victory.

The league is on hiatus next weekend for the Top Prospects tournament.

Janesville hosts Springfield in a two-game series beginning March 10.
