The WIAA state individual wrestling tournament begins Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Twenty-four wrestlers from The Gazette's coverage area will compete, including two from Janesville. Parker senior Logan Murdy will attempt to follow up his sixth-place state finish last year by contending for a title at 220, while Craig sophomore Keeanu Benton heads to state for the first time at 285 pounds.

Elkhorn, with five qualifiers, will have the most wrestlers of any of our area teams at state. Milton and Evansville/Albany each have four competing.

Gazette sports editor Eric Schmoldt and writer John Barry preview the state meet in an episode of Xtra Points.

Our theme music is "Rock Hybrid" by Kevin MacLeod. Find more of his work at his website.
