The WIAA girls basketball postseason is upon us. Regional quarterfinals begin for area teams Tuesday night, and regionals continue through Friday and Saturday.

The brackets weren't exactly kind to Janesville's teams, with Craig getting a 10 seed and Parker a 12 in their Division 1 sectional. The Cougars open Friday at Muskego, while the Vikings get a third shot at Big Eight foe Verona.

What are the odds that the two teams can win a game, or maybe more, as double-digit seeds? What are top-seeded Whitewater's chances to make it to the Division 3 state tournament for the second time in three years? Who are the area's darkhorse candidates as the tournament begins?

Gazette sports editor Eric Schmoldt breaks down the brackets in this week's episode of Xtra Points.
