RVC girls hoops: Big Foot, Clinton still tied in South

Walworth Big Foot and Clinton will take their first-place tie into the final game of the Rock Valley South Conference season.

Both teams won league games Friday to stay even at 11-4 in conference play.

Big Foot built an 11-point lead on visiting Orfordville Parkview and held on from there, earning a 54-43 victory.

Brooke Wellhausen led all scorers with 20 points, and freshman Reagan Courier added 17.

McKenzie Saglie had a team high 14 and Alex Thole added 13 for the Vikings.

•  Clinton 59, Brodhead 44—The visiting Cougars trailed by one at halftime but outscored the Cardinals 33-17 over the final 18 minutes to keep pace with the Chiefs.

Kalli Kuhlow had 20 points for Clinton to lead all scorers, while Payton Severson and Kelly Loudon added 11 apiece.

Brooke Bescup and Erin Nyhus each scored 14 for the Cardinals.

•  Whitewater 42, Jefferson 35—The Whippets clinched an outright Rock Valley North title, but the host Eagles didn’t make it easy.

Myriama Smith-Traore battled foul trouble but scored a game-high 17 points as top-ranked Whitewater won its 19th straight game and improved to 15-0 atop the RVC North.

Smith-Traore was 9 of 13 from the free-throw line.

Olivia Ganser had 13 points for Jefferson.

•  Edgerton 59, Evansville 17—Ashlyn Oren scored 15 points to lead Edgerton to an easy victory over a depleted Evansville High squad.

Kathleen Reilly added 14 points as the Crimson Tide built a 43-8 lead at halftime. Edgerton improved to 10-3 in the Rock Valley North and 15-4 overall.

Evansville was without several key players due to illness. The Blue Devils fell to 1-13, 2-16.

Annalise DeMuth led McFarland with 20 points, while MacKenzie Lindow had 25 to lead all scorers for East Troy.
