The Waterford boys basketball team is feeling a bit snakebitten.

The Wolverines fell to 1-11 on the season Friday but have lost their last three games by two points each.

Delavan-Darien was the latest to hold off Waterford, hanging on for a 54-52 Southern Lakes Conference home victory.

“We played good basketball at the end,” Comets head coach Chris Hembrook said. “Brandon Edmonds had a key steal and free throw at the end, and he and Ethan Cesarz really dictated on defense to help us.”

The Comets led by double digits with about six minutes left, but Waterford clamped down with a full-court press to come back and take a lead.

Edmonds helped Delavan-Darien regroup, and he scored a game-high 20 points.

Seth Kirsch added 10 points for the Comets.
