Free throws send Delavan-Darien past Elkhorn

Jaida Speth scored 19 points, including two game- winning free throws with 12 seconds left, and Kenna Timmerman added 18 as Delavan-Darien edged rival Elkhorn 54-52 in Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball action Tuesday on the Elks’ court.

The Comets trailed by five points at halftime. Timmerman scored 11 of her points in the second half, while Speth put in 10 to account for 21 of the Comets’ 28 points.

Sophomore Payton Christensen scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Elks, who fell to 0-6 in the SLC and 0-12 overall.

Delavan-Darien is 2-4, 2-10.

n Burlington 55, Badger 39—Megan Wallace scored 18 points to lead Burlington past host Badger in a Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball game Tuesday.

Jesse Burling added 10 points as the Demons went to 4-2 in the conference and 6-6 overall.

Jennifer Freeman scored all 11 of her points in the first half for the Badgers. Courtney Oomens scored all 10 of her points in the second half as Badger fell to 3-3 in the SLC and 5-5 overall.

Rock Valley

MacKenzie Lindow scored nine of her 26 points in the second overtime to lead East Troy to a 60-56 victory over host Turner in Rock Valley Conference crossover girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Lindow made seven of eight free throws as East Troy outscored their host 13-9 in the second overtime. Maddie Rosin had the other four points, including a 3-point basket, and finished with 13 points.

Erin Rice contributed 17 points in the victory, which put East Troy at 5-3 in the Rock Valley North and 9-4 overall.

Kenzie Krizmanich led Turner with 15 points. Mara Fowler added 13, and Carson Nitz had 12 but Turner fell to 3-6 in the Rock Valley South and 7-6 overall.
