Eduard Blechner, 79, of Elkhorn, died unexpectedly at his home on October 25, 2016. His family announces his death thusly: It is with great sorrow that we inform family and friends that our dearly loved husband, father and grandfather, Eduard Blechner has closed his eyes for the last time on this earth. His departure was unexpected.

Eduard Blechner was born on October 17th, 1937 in Ruda, Romania. His family moved back to Germany during WWII in 1940. In 1957, Eduard left Germany as a 19 year old with his brother Joe to seek his fortune in the U.S., where he called Chicago his home. He married his wife of 56 years, Katharina, a dressmaker from Austria, in 1960. Together they have three beautiful children. Eduard was a German Toolmaker by trade and started a successful Moldmaking business in 1970. Life’s Journey took the two back and forth to Germany several times, and they settled in Elkhorn, WI in 2005 for the final place they call home.

Eduard leaves behind his beloved wife, Katharina; daughters, Carmen and Renee; daughter-in-law, Jenny; and son, Kurt; granddaughter Daniela; and grandsons, Kyle and Travis.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhorn with the Rev. Oriole Regales Officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 8 a.m. to service time. Betzer Funeral Home is assisting the Blechner Family.
