Squirrel causes Lake Geneva power outage
LAKE GENEVA—Alliant Energy says 3,776 customers lost power on Saturday morning when a squirrel got into the substation on Mill Street.
Alliant was working to re-route power to customers, spokesman Scott Reigstad said.
The outage began at about 9:09 a.m., and Alliant hoped to get power restored by 11:15 a.m., Reigstad said.
Reigstad said the squirrel likely caused a short circuit and did not survive.
