Milton Historical Society plans membership picnic for July 14

MILTON—The Milton Historical Society’s annual membership picnic will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, in the Tomah Room at Milton Historical Society, 18 S. Janesville St.

The picnic is a free potluck dinner. Attendees should bring a dish to pass or a dessert, and their own place settings. Drinks will be provided.

Ellsworth Brown, director of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, will present the 2016 Public Program Award to Milton Historical Society in recognition of the Civil War Living History Days community festival.

Ryan Holbrook, a member of the Civil War re-enacting group Company K, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry, will provide an account of his experiences as a re-enactor during Living History Days prior to the award presentation.
