Milton community recognition ceremony to be held Thursday

MILTON—The city of Milton will hold its annual Community Recognition gathering at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in North Goodrich Park, corner of Parkview Drive and Madison Avenue.


The event recognizes residents, city employees and volunteers who have demonstrated commitment to the Milton community through their actions in 2015.


This year's award winners include Nate Rogers, Community Award; Ryan Schneider, Police Officer of the Year; Dean Blaser, Community Award; Bill Wilson, Library Volunteer of the Year Award, Cori Olson, Historic Preservation Award; Phil Watson, Historic Preservation Award; Lonnie Brown, Community Award; and Lisa Brooks, Employee of the Year.


A picnic will take place at the Milton Community House, 20 Parkview Drive. The city will provide barbecue pork sandwiches, boneless wings, soda and water. Community members are encouraged to attend and bring a side dish or dessert to pass.


The picnic will start at 5 p.m. with the awards program at 5:30 p.m.
