JANESVILLE—A female inmate who died Saturday at the Rock County Jail was seen and cleared from a local hospital six hours before she was found unresponsive, a Rock County Sheriff's Office commander said.

Sheri L. Parker, 45, of Janesville complained of abdominal pain and was moved to the jail's medical unit Thursday. When the pain hadn't subsided by Friday, she was sent to a local hospital at 8:50 p.m., Commander Erik Chellevold said.

Parker was cleared and returned to the jail's medical unit at 12:46 a.m. Saturday. A correctional officer found her unresponsive at 6:46 a.m., Chellevold said.

Chellevold did not know when Parker was last checked before she died. That information is still being compiled, he said.

Parker's autopsy was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sunday in Madison. The results won't be known for “quite some time,” Chellevold said.

There's no suspicion of foul play at this time, he said.

Parker was jailed Tuesday on a prescription drug-related charge, Chellevold said.
