JANESVILLE—A Rock County Jail inmate died Saturday morning, according to a news release.

A correctional officer was doing a security check in the jail's medical unit when inmate and Janesville resident Sheri L. Parker, 45, was found unresponsive at 6:46 a.m., according to the release.

The officer radioed for help from the jail nurse, jail supervisor and additional correctional officers. Janesville Fire Department paramedics took over with “advanced life-saving efforts” that failed, according to the release.
