Rep. Paul Ryan sets re-election fundraising record
JANESVILLE—Rep. Paul Ryan's re-election campaign reported Wednesday that it has $7.68 million cash on hand, the largest such amount his campaign has ever reported.
The amount included in the April quarterly report is also the largest for any member of the House of Representatives, the campaign said in a news release.
The fundraising totals follow Ryan's election last fall as speaker, the most powerful position in the House of Representatives.
Ryan's campaign finance report shows the campaign received $4.64 million in contributions during the latest reporting period and spending in that period of $2.26 million.
Contributions came from individuals and political action committees from across the country.
