Forward Janesville names Data Dimensions top business of the year
JANESVILLE—Forward Janesville is honoring a longstanding local company that's helped boost recent growth in the local high-tech job market.
Janesville-based Data Dimensions garnered Forward Janesville's 2016 Business of The Year award for large corporations.
It's the first time in the 15 years Data Dimensions has been awarded business of the year by Janesville's chamber of commerce, and the award comes at a time when the homegrown company is driving what national analysts are calling a high-tech jobs boom in Rock County.
Data Dimensions has operated in Janesville since 1982, and late last year, announced plans to add 120 employees to expand operations here and to build a state-of-the-art, 25,000-square-foot, secure document storage and management facility.
Data Dimensions is a second-party vendor that intakes, transcribes and converts records to electronic storage for a wide range of clients, both private and government.
One of Data Dimension's largest clients is the federal Veterans Administration Division of Veterans Disability Claims.
The company operates other facilities in Brown Deer; Brookfield; Clinton, Iowa; and Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Several of its facilities have seen expansions in the past two years, the company reports.
Data Dimensions was selected as the chamber's business of the year by a panel of Forward Janesville business members, executive board members and residents who voted on the company's track record in the past year of success in business development, community support and professionalism “that makes their business not only a profitable success, but a great asset to the Janesville community,” according to Forward Janesville's criteria.
It's one of several awards that are presented at the annual Forward Janesville's Awards Luncheon, which this year is Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Pontiac Convention Center.
Another local high-tech company, Janesville-based SASid, won Forward Janesville's 2016 Business of The Year award for companies under 50 employees. SASid is a software developer that provides web-based services for insurance companies.
