Elkhorn police investigating store robbery

ELKHORN -- A Delavan man has been arrested following an attempted robbery Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015, at the Pharmacy Station in Elkhorn.

Elkhorn police along with Walworth County sheriff's deputies responded about 9:50 a.m. to a report of a robbery in progress, according to an Elkhorn Police Department news release.

Upon arrival, employees told officers that the robber left on foot headed toward Speedway. Police apprehended the suspect nearby. Police did not say if any money was taken.

Police say the 24-year-old Delavan man was taken into custody without incident. He has not yet been identified.

No store employees or customers were injured during the attempted robbery and the store closed for a short period of time while officers investigated the incident, according to police.

The store did re-open shortly thereafter.
