Slow, no wake order in effect for town of Beloit festival this weekend
TOWN OF BELOIT—Rock River boaters should be cautious and slow in the area of Preservation Park in the town of Beloit this weekend.
Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden has declared a slow/no-wake zone on the river near the park for the town's annual festival.
The zone will be in effect from 7 a.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Sunday on the portion of the river extending 200 feet north and south of Preservation Park.
The sheriff's office and town patrol boats will be on the water during the festival and will enforce safety laws and the slow/no-wake ordinance, according to a news release.
Deputies will place slow/no-wake buoys on the river 200 feet north and south of Preservation Park starting Friday.
