MADISON--Division 2 powerhouse Madison Edgewood held off Mequon Homestead to win the Morgan Stanley Shootout on Wednesday at University Ridge Golf Course.

The Crusaders, behind medalist Tess Hackworthy’s 4-under par 68, finished with a 320 total. Homestead was second with 324 and Verona third with 328.

Milton finished eighth in the 17-team field at 350. CheyAnn Knudsen had an 82 to lead Milton.

Janesville Parker was tied for 14th at 394.

“The biggest thing is we were led by sophomore Emily O’Leary, who had her best 18-hole score in her high school career,” Parker coach Mary Ross said. “That’s impressive, especially at University Ridge.”

It was Parker’s lowest team score this season.

The Vikings return home to host Verona and Madison Memorial at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside.
