Peter A. Holte, 45, of Janesville, died Friday Aug. 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. He died as a result of a spinal cord injury sustained many years ago. He was born in Janesville, WI on Feb. 25, 1969, the son of Alan and Elizabeth “Betty” (Schaller) Holte. He married Cathy Wendtland in June 1994 in Janesville, WI. Pete worked for Lear Corporation for 13.5 years until the plant closed. He was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Janesville. Pete was an avid Green Bay Packer, UW-Badger, and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He especially enjoyed watching Kendra in her many sports and 4-H activities. He loved sports and hunting, especially his hunting trips to the mountains in Wyoming which he had made since he was 15 years old with his father, brother, uncles, cousins, nephews, and friends.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kendra Holte of Clinton, WI; his parents Alan and Betty of Janesville; his grandmother, Violet Schaller of LaCrosse, WI; his twin sister, Christine Holte-Garey of Janesville; his brother, Ken (Jenny) Holte of Plymouth, MN; and his nieces and nephews – Garrate Holte of Janesville; Haley Hanson, currently attending Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN; Jackson Holte, currently attending the University of Montana in Missoula, MT; Tanner Holte of Plymouth, MN; Justina Grace Holte of Plymouth, MN; Brianna Garey of Janesville; Tyler Garey of Janesville: his many aunts and uncles; his faithful friend, Steve Hefty of Janesville: and Kendra’s mother Cathy Wendtland. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother and grandfather.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wed., September 3, 2014 and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thurs. Sept. 4, 2014 with Funeral services to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thur., Sept. 4, 2014. All will be held at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be spread on a mountain point in Wyoming.
