Marie Anna (Bennett) Gestrich commenced her inseparable union with her beloved husband and her God on August 29, 2014. She was born on August 29, 1932 in Stitzer, WI, to John and Mary (Weiss) Bennett. Marie attended schools in Rock County. On August 30, 1952, Marie said “I do” to Stephen J. Gestrich. They began their life journey together in the Clinton, WI area. In 1961, they moved to their dearly loved farm in Orfordville, WI where they raised their eight children. While raising a family on the farm, Marie greatly enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Throughout the years, Marie also worked for Rock County Health Care, and drove a school bus.

In later years, Marie and Steve enjoyed their many travels including Hawaii, the Holy land, Florida, the East Coast, and Branson, MO. Her most memorable trip was to Ireland with her daughters Mary and Margret. Her most treasured trips were to Denver, CO. Marie was very passionate about Pro-Life and worked endlessly as an advocate since 1972. She was very devoted to the Catholic faith being a loyal member to St. Augustine church in Footville, WI.

Marie is lovingly survived by her eight children: Shirley (Bill) Hoffman of Rockford, IL, Stephen Gestrich of Beloit, WI, Elizabeth (Steve) Case of Footville, WI, Joseph (Jeannie) Gestrich of Beloit, WI, Peter (Barb) Gestrich of Beloit, WI, Theresa Keller of Wausau, WI, Mary Gestrich of Sun Prairie, WI, and Margret Gestrich of Denver, CO. She was a proud grandma of twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by four sisters: Florence Martin, Agnes Krammer, Mildred (Leon) Churchill, Marcella Hale. Additionally she was survived by her sister-in-laws: Mary Bennett, Helen Crowley, Rose Marie Olin, and Rose Gestrich.

She was met at the heavenly gates by her devoted husband, Steve, cherished grandson, Brian, treasured daughter-in-law, Christy, and her siblings, Marjorie Dailey, Kate Anderson, Herbert Bennett, and Charles Bennett, and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at ST. AUGUSTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 280 Haberdale Dr. in Footville, WI 53537 with Reverend Kevin Dooley officiating. Visitation is from 3p.m. to 6p.m. Monday, September 1, 2014 at ST. AUGUSTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday prior to mass. Committal will take place at Mt.
