Cougars beat Big Foot, Stoughton in soccer quad
JANESVILLE—After a disappointing performance in a loss to Beloit Memorial on Thursday, the Janesville Craig boys soccer team responded Saturday in the Craig Invitational.
The Cougars defeated Big Foot High 3-1 and then beat Stoughton 2-1 to win its invitational.
“I’m extremely proud the way the guys bounced back,” Craig coach Garrett McCabe said. “To play back-to-back games like that.”
The Cougars scored all their goals in the second half of each game.
Hozai Ceballos and Aldolfo Pineda scored the goals in the semifinal victory over Big Foot.
In the title game, Jack Swingle scored both Craig goals.
Yoshi Fukushima had assists on all three goals against Big Foot and added another assist against Stoughton.
“We were lively and played with some spring in our step,” McCabe said.
Craig (3-3) plays at Parker on Tuesday night.
