McDade leads Parker to pair of Big Eight golf wins

The Vikings shot a 185 to defeat Madison East and Beloit Memorial. Neither opponent fielded a complete team.

McDade had two birdies in her three-over-par score over nine holes.

“She’s on the cusp,” Parker coach Mary Ross said of McDade. “She’s managing her game and beginning to understand what it takes to shoot an under-par score.”

Keera Richards added a 43.

“She’s a solid second for us,” Ross said.

The Parker coach the next five players on the team are all within a few strokes of each other.

“They’re fighting for position, and they’re all young,” Ross said.

The Vikings, 2-1 in the Big Eight, compete in the Morgan-Stanley Invite at University Ridge on Wednesday.

Craig falls to Verona, Sun Prairie--Cougars swept in Big Eight triangular—Big Eight powerhouse Verona easily defeated Janesville Craig and Sun Prairie in a conference triangular Thursday at Tumbledown golf course.

Verona, behind medalist Jessica Reinecke’s 3-over par 75, finished with a 323 total. Sun Prairie shot 382, while Craig finished with a score of 442.

Jorden Roscovius had 106 to lead the Cougars.
