ATC to rebuild powerline in Rock, Walworth counties
American Transmission Company will be rebuilding a 20-mile, 69,000-volt line from Beloit to Walworth.
The Colley Road-Brick Church Rebuild Project was given the green light Tuesday by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, according to a news release.
The $38.5 million project will replace aging infrastructure. Steel transmission poles will replace wood poles, and new wires will be added.
The majority of the line is more than 60 years old, according to the released.
A new Tiger Substation near Clinton will be built.
The project will stretch from Colley Road Substation in Beloit to the Brick Church Substation in Walworth, the release states.
Construction will begin in 2015 and finish in 2018.
