Jean A. Koopman, age 71, of Janesville, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at home. She was born on Aug. 21, 1943, to Lenard and Audrey (Davis) Holloway and grew up in Beloit, WI. After graduation from Beloit Memorial High School, Jean married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Koopman, on Sept. 15, 1961. The family moved to Janesville, in 1975. She and her husband ran Koopman Plumbing Company and she also worked for Crosby Ave. Self Storage and Tuescher Property Management for 22 years, retiring in 2010.

Jean enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and the Cayman Islands. Many family vacations were spent downhill skiing at Indianhead in Michigan, and also spent at their cabin in Hayward, WI. In later years, golf became the sport she and Jerry enjoyed together. Hobbies included crossword puzzles and Ancestry. Jean loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jerry; three children: Debbie (Tom) Bowman, Kristin (David) Woodbeck, Travis (Kristin) Koopman; three grandchildren: Mandy (Jared) Thompson, Emma Halverson, and Trent Koopman; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Grayson Thompson; three siblings: Jim (Hilda) Holloway, Gary (Sue) Holloway and Sue Raymer; and many nieces; nephews and other extended family and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry Holloway; and a brother-in-law, Phil Raymer.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
