JANESVILLE—A man accused in Thursday's armed robbery in Janesville is in custody.

Jerard A. Edwards, 21, of 202 N. Franklin St., Janesville, turned himself in at the Rock County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, Janesville police Lt. Keith Lawver said.

Lawver said police still are looking for two others they believe were involved in the robbery.

Police were called at 8 p.m. Thursday to 202 S. Academy St. Residents reported they answered a knock on the door and were confronted by people and a gun.

The robbers took residents' money and fled in a black car, police said.

The victims recognized Edwards as one of the robbers, police said. Edwards' photo was later published by local news media.

Police arrested Edwards on charges of armed robbery and battery while armed. A victim said he suffered a scrape when Edwards hit him with the handgun, Lawver said.

Edwards was expected to make his initial court appearance Wednesday.
