Grand slam powers Snappers

BELOIT—Matt Chapman drove in six runs, including a grand slam in the fourth inning, and the Beloit Snappers beat the Quad Cities River Bandits 9-6 on Friday. Designated hitter Philip Pohl added two RBI on hits in the first and sixth innings.

Beloit starter Kyle Finnegan struggled through five innings, giving up four hits, four walks and three earned runs, but he earned the win thanks to Chapman’s grand slam.

The series continues at 7 p.m. tonight at Telfer Park.
