Matt Stalcup had the Peoria Chiefs’ number Tuesday night.

The Beloit Snappers starting pitcher threw a complete-game three-hitter, striking out eight batters and walking none to earn a 3-0 Midwest League road victory.

Stalcup improved to 5-4 with the impressive effort. He allowed just three singles and one runner into scoring position. His ERA dipped to 4.02.

The Snappers scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings to get the job done.

First baseman Michael Soto had a home run in the sixth inning.

Shortstop Brandon Cogswell went 2-for-3.

The teams play again tonight.
