JANESVILLE—The city of Janesville has announced a three-week-long closure of part of Mineral Point Avenue near Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center.

According to a release, the closure starts Wednesday and spans the next three weeks, and affects Mineral Point Avenue between Madison and North Franklin streets.

Detours will be marked, and parking will be restricted in the construction area.

Access will remain open to the Mercy Hospital emergency room entrance driveway at Madison Street and Mineral Point Avenue and to the hospital parking deck along Mineral Point Avenue.

The closure will affect the Janesville Transit System's West Court Street route and the Mercy Hospital bus shelter.

Buses on the outbound route will follow a normal route until they reach North Franklin and Ravine streets. They'll turn left on Ravine Street, and then right onto North Washington Street, then resume the normal route at Mineral Point Avenue.

For more information on the route change, call the Janesville Transit System at 608-755-3150.
