Junior Eziquiel Mendonza scored two goals in a three-minute span to give Janesville Parker a 4-2 victory in a boys nonconference soccer match Tuesday at Parker.

First-year coach Abilio Monteiro is getting a feel for his team after one week of practice.

“We have some experience to blend in with some younger players,” said Monteiro, who was an assistant coach at Beloit College. “We’re going to play a couple of freshmen. Right now, we’re a work in progress.”

Mendonza scored in the 70th and 72nd minutes to give the Vikings their first victory of the season.

Kyle Zeilinger and Jack Griska scored for the Vikings in the first half.

Michael Tenience and David Kim scored goals for the Crimson Tide.

Francisco Lara made seven saves for the Vikings.

Parker returns to action with a nonconference game at Wisconsin Heights on Thursday.
