Cecil Hauri, age 88, of Richland Center, died at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge, Madison, on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014. He was born May 18, 1926, at home in the Town of Monticello, to the late Robert and Elsie (Baumann) Hauri Sr. He attended Hardscrabble school in the Town of Sylvester, Green County. Cecil served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. On Feb. 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to Barbara F. Hoffman in Janesville, WI. They started farming in Brodhead, and moved to Gillingham, in 1968. He moved to Madison in 2012.

To say Cecil loved farming would be an understatement. He was Outstanding Young Farmer of 1958, in the Janesville area. Farming was his life and he felt so fortunate to be able to do what he loved all the time.
