Lucile R. Sarow, 93, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, in her home in Footville. She was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Brooklyn, WI, the daughter of John and Emma (Abey) Elmer. She married George Sarow on Dec. 3, 1940. He passed away on July 8, 1988. She has been a Footville resident since 1951, and a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed at Footville Telephone Company for 34 years. She also served as Footville Village Treasurer for 30 years, and manager of the Senior Home, and was a volunteer at CUP food pantry. Lucile has enjoyed visits with family and friends, and sharing special times with her grandchildren.

Lucile is survived by her son, Steve of Janesville; son-in-law, Terry Jelle of Blanchardville; grandchildren: Samuel (Lindsay) Adams, Catrin Adams (Mike Szyryj), Daniel (Shannon) Jelle, and Norah (Ben) Hayes; great-grandchildren: Nathan Adams, and Jackson and Isabelle Hayes; sisters, Helen Davis and Betty Marenes, both of Evansville; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Bader of Oak Forest, IL, Dorothy Sarow of Evansville, Maxine Sarow of Evansville, and Jackie Elmer of Monticello; several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; daughter, Patricia in 2011; and brothers, Tom and Earl.

Funeral services will be held at NEW HORIZON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Hwy 11 and 1726 South Murphy Road, rural Footville, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, with Gail Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the CHURCH. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Horizon United Methodist Church or Agrace HospiceCare of Janesville.
