Beloit police investigating shots fired, gunshot injury incidents
BELOIT—Beloit police are investigating whether a shots-fired report and a man with a gunshot wound reported 45 minutes later Thursday night are related.
At 6:45 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Eighth Street on the city's west side for a report of shots fired.
At 7:30 p.m., police received a report of a male with a gunshot wound being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
A Rock County sheriff's office report states that a deputy was called to the hospital at 7:28 p.m. to assist with a man who suffered a gunshot wound on the side of his head.
Later, the deputy joined "multiple jurisdictions" that helped search the area around Telfer Park on the east side, where the man said he was shot, according to the sheriff's office report.
