Post-primary look ahead to November
With the results in from Tuesday's primary vote, the field now is set for the Nov. 4 general election.
Nationally, senate and congressional races will be in the spotlight to see if there is a shift in power heading into the 2016 presidential race.
Locally, many races were decided in the primary because they are the only candidate running in opposing parties. However several local statewide races are setting up to be hotly contested.
Here's a preview of candidates running in selected races:
Governor: Scott Walker (R), Mary Burke (D)
1st Congressional District: Rob Zerban (D), Paul Ryan (R)
5th Congressional District (Whitewater): Chris Rockwood (D), James Sensenbrenner (R)
Senate 11: Dan Kilkenny (D), Steven Nass (R)
Senate 15: Janice Ringhand (D), Brian Fitzgerald (R)
Assembly 31: Amy Loudenbeck (R) running unopposed
Assembly 32: Tyler August (R), Alan Kupsik (D)
Assembly 33: Cody Horlacher (R) running unopposed
Assembly 43: Leon Hebert (R), Andy Jorgensen (D)
Walworth County sheriff: Kurt Picknell (R) running unopposed
Walworth County Clerk: Sheila Reiff (R) running unopposed
