ELKHORN—Another search Saturday failed to turn up anything in the case of a 48-year-old Elkhorn-area man who was last seen nearly a month ago and was reported missing Aug. 1.

Russ Delorme was last seen July 13, and his vehicle was found two days later in a parking lot on Esterly Road at the Kettle Moraine State Forest near Whitewater.

A friend reported Delorme missing Aug. 1, said Capt. Scott McClory of the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

The office has conducted seven searches for Delorme, some with the help of the Whitewater Area Mounted Search Team and Rescue Unit, the Great Lakes Search and Rescue Team and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

“We haven't found him yet,” McClory said Monday. “He isn't wanted for anything, and there's no evidence of any foul play or crime.

“There's nothing suspicious or hinky other than the fact that he's missing.”

Originally from the Sheboygan area, Delorme was living near Elkhorn prior to his disappearance, McClory said, adding that a friend reported him missing Aug. 1.

Friends and relatives said it was not unusual for Delorme to grab some gear and head out into the wilderness from time to time, McClory said.

Authorities have searched Delorme's car and home and haven't turned up anything, McClory said. Delorme has not used his cell phone or credit cards, he said.

Authorities have checked several tips from people who have reported seeing Delorme “here, there or wherever,” McClory said.

“That hasn't resulted in any solid leads,” he said.

Delorme is 5 feet, eight inches tall, and weighs 174 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

McClory said the department doesn't have any more searches planned for the immediate future.
