Lois I. Howland, 84, of Milton, passed away early on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Rock Haven Nursing Home, Janesville, WI. Lois was born on April 25, 1930, in Edgerton, WI, to the late Henry and Edith (Edwardson) Ullius. She would marry Mark Howland at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton, on Nov. 24, 1951. Lois attended Mercy Nursing School, and worked for many years as a registered nurse at Highland Park Hospital and Lake Forest Hospital in Illinois. She loved to garden, do needlework, and travel with her husband, Mark. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and Central Lutheran Church where she was very active in many of the circles.

Lois is survived by her children: Mark (Lisa) Howland Jr. of Lake Forest, IL, Matthew Howland of Janesville, Leanne Howland of Janesville; grandchildren: Marcus Howland, Emily Heim, Nicholas Howland; sister, Karen (Dr. Edgar) Koch of Kenosha, WI; brother, Phillip (Judy) Ullius of Janesville; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mark Howland; son, Jon Howland; and grandson, Peter Heim.

A private family service will be held at a later date. ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, MILTON, are assisting the family with arrangements.
