Rage strengthen grasp on Ironman Football League

MILTON—Rock County stormed to a 33-0 halftime lead en route to a 43-0 victory over visiting Milwaukee in an Ironman Football League game Saturday night at Milton High.

Dan Roberts completed nine of 16 passes fro 201 yards and three TDs and ran six times for 108 yards as the Rage improved to 8-0.

The win over the Hurricanes clinched home field advantage for the entire playoffs.

Roberts hit Kyle Marty with a 13-yard scoring pass; Jermar Ayers with a 42-yard TD pass and Brandon Tobias with a 13-yard TD pass.

Brennan McElrath opened the scoring with a 1-yard run. Chris Lester added a 1-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Kicker Tony Smidl added a pair of 25-yard field goals, and the defense contributed a safety when Nick Hammon, Justin Vance and Greg Davis tackled the Hurricane punter in the end zone.

Tobias finished with four catches for 75 yards. Ayers had three grabs for 95 yards, and Marty had two catches for 31 yards.

Hammon led the defense with six solo tackles and three sacks. Ryan Olson had an interception.

The Rage play rival Burlington at 6 p.m. Saturday at Milton.
