UPDATED: Four arrested after Beloit standoff
BELOIT--A standoff Wednesday morning in a Beloit home led to the arrest of four people, according to a police department news release.
--Charreese Long, 22, Beloit, on charges of armed robbery and probation violation.
--Arsheal Gill, 19, Beloit, on charges of armed robbery and a warrant for disorderly conduct.
--Erica Martin, 21, Roscoe, Illinois, on a charge of party to the crime of armed robbery.
--Dakota Stevenson, 19, Beloit, on a charge of party to the crime of armed robbery.
Police responded to the 900 block of 10th St. around 11 p.m. Tuesday and found a man with a head wound. He was treated and released at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
The investigation revealed an earlier argument involved the victim and another man, plus three females. The females left the residence but returned with two men. When the victim came outside, he was threatened with a handgun by one of the men before being hit with it in the head. The women fled the scene.
Officers were led to the 1900 block of McKinley Avenue, where they tried to make contact with those inside an apartment. The department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team was requested at 6 a.m. Wednesday. Crisis negotiators later made contact with the occupants when they were taken into custody at 7:30 a.m.
A search warrant executed at the same residence in the 1900 block of McKinley found a small amount of suspected illegal narcotics and a handgun, which were seized.
