Insurance fraud tip leads to arrests

EDGERTON—Two people have been charged with insurance fraud, according to an Edgerton Police Department news release.

According to the release, Johnny Pretty, 33, and Jennifer Pretty, 39, of 401 N. Second St., Edgerton, were arrested on charges of fraudulent insurance and employee benefit program claims.

Police received a tip regarding a possible insurance fraud incident reported as a burglary to a dwelling at 212 W. Fulton St. in June 2011. The tip claimed the burglary was staged to file a false insurance claim. The tip was investigated and led to Tuesday's arrest.
