Texas Roadhouse restaurants nationwide are hosting a motorcycle ride to benefit Homes for Our Troops. One of the eight routes takes place in Janesville.

The event begins with an 8 a.m. breakfast Sunday, Aug. 10, at Kutter Harley-Davidson, 3223 N. Pontiac Drive. Riders leave at 10:30 a.m. and stop at 11:30 a.m. at Texas Roadhouse, 3201 Deerfield Drive, for a BBQ lunch and concert.

Participants can register in advance at hfotusa.org/bikerun or in person the morning of the ride at Kutter Harley-Davidson. The cost is $25 for a single rider, $35 for a driver and passenger, and $10 for non-riders.

The first 300 people to register will receive a free event T-shirt.

Organizers expect more than 7,000 riders across the nation to participate and hope to raise more than $250,000, according to a news release.

In the past 10 years, Texas Roadhouse has raised $800,000 for Homes for Our Troops. The restaurant chain wants to break $1 million this year.

Homes for Our Troops helps injured veterans by building adapted homes that provide freedom of movement and the ability for veterans to live independently.
