Four arrested after drug investigation, traffic stop
JANESVILLE—A Janesville Police Department Street Crimes drug investigation and traffic stop led to a search warrant and four arrests early Monday, according to a department news release.
According to the release, the street crimes unit was investigating information on drug distribution and use on Canyon Drive at 1 a.m. Monday when officers saw a vehicle with two people leave 1415 Canyon Drive. A department K9 officer and dog were deployed to conduct a drug sniff that led to finding marijuana.
The two people were taken into custody, arrested and held at the Rock County Jail.
As the drug investigation continued, a search warrant was obtained and executed at Apt. 15 of 1415 Canyon Drive. That search resulted in two more arrests when more marijuana, drug paraphernalia and Ecstasy were seized.
A total of 217 grams of marijuana with a street value of $3,000, plus 2.9 grams of Ecstasy, were seized from the traffic stop and search warrant.
--Timothy F. Gilbertson, 25, of 1415 Canyon Drive, Apt. 15, on charges of manufacture/deliver of marijuana, three counts; running a drug house, four counts; possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of ecstasy, possession of drug paraphernalia, and four counts of bail jumping.
--Kayla A. Newman, 25, 1415 Canyon Drive, Apt. 15, on charges of running a drug house, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
--Jarod B. Ward, 19, of 1920 Forest Ave., Beloit, on possession with intent to deliver.
--Liana J. Moore, 18, 1725 Hancock Lane, Janesville, on charges of possession with intent to deliver and running a drug vehicle.
