Darlene D. Rannenberg, 86, of Janesville, passed away on July 31, 2014, at Rock Haven Nursing Home, surrounded by her family and dear friends. She was born in Janesville, to Herbert P. and Dorothy F. Kakuske on Oct. 21, 1927. She was a graduate of Janesville High School, class of 1945. Darlene married Karl Rannenberg in 1963, he preceded her in death in 2013. Darlene was a life long resident of Janesville, and was employed for many years with the City of Janesville, as Police Chief Secretary, and later, worked for Rock County Corporation Counsel as Administrative Assistant, retiring in 1989. Upon retirement, Darlene and Karl spent many happy years motorhoming, including winters in Texas, enjoying sun and sea on an off shore island near Corpus Christi. In addition, Darlene enjoyed her home, especially, with her family, neighbors and friends. Darlene was very passionate about music and for many years was an active member of the Milton Choral Union. She also enjoyed interest in Bridge and was a member of the McDowell and Women's Clubs of Janesville, She had a wonderful love for animals, and all God's creatures that was truly reflected by her each and every day.

Darlene is survived by a daughter, Debra (Richard David) Hale of Beloit, WI; two sons, Chris (Anne) Bohlman of Fort Wayne, and Craig Bohlman of Atlanta, GA; three step children: Steven (Wendy) Rannenberg of Superior, WI, Robert (Bertsie) Rannenberg of St. Paul, MN, and John Rannenberg of Orange Lake, FL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jacklyn Williams of St. Petersburg, FL.

In accordance with Darlene's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Darlene will be interred with Karl in Milton Lawns Mausoleum Veterans Wall. The family asks that memorials be made to Rock County Humane Society in Darlene's name.

The family extends their appreciation to St. Mary's Hospital and Rock Haven for their compassion, kindness, and wonderful care!

We love you and will miss you so very much and we will always remember your love for music reflected by your beautiful voice!
