Mark Spreitzer began his public service in Beloit while I was Beloit City Council president, and he was selected to serve on our appointment review committee. His fellow committee members were impressed enough with his capabilities that they chose him to chair that committee for two of his three years there.

Since then, I have watched his commitment to the people of Beloit grow as he was elected to the city council in 2011 and earlier this year was chosen by his fellow Beloit City Council members to serve as president.

Mark has taken these responsibilities very seriously, has learned and grown each step of the way and has served the people of Beloit with honesty and dedication.

Mark is now asking voters for the chance to represent them in Wisconsin’s 45th Assembly District. I believe that his experience has prepared him well for that role and that he would bring to it the same energy and dedication that he has shown locally. Mark is motivated by his sense of duty, not personal ambition, and does not pander to special interests. He would always and only have the best interests of his constituents at heart.

I happen to live outside Mark’s Assembly district but I know that, if elected, Mark would be there to serve all of the citizens of Beloit, no matter which side of town they live in.

Please cast your vote for Mark Spreitzer on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
