BELOIT--Police say the person who died in a shooting at Summit Park on Saturday was 16-year-old Jose Carruthers-Paramo of Beloit.

Beloit police Capt. Dan Risse declined to say whether Carruthers-Paramo was targeted by those who fired or was hit by a stray round.

"The circumstances that led up to the shooting remain unclear," according to a press news release Monday morning.

Police have not interviewed a second shooting victim because of his medical condition, according to the release.

The second victim's identity won't be released until police speak with him, according to the release.

A third shooting victim, a 14-year-old from Beloit, has been interviewed, but police said they would not reveal her identity because of her age.

A fourth person who was "struck by unknown person(s)"  but not shot was identified as Robert Brandon, 20, of Madison, Risse said.

Police are asking the public to help them identify anyone who might have been in the park that night or anyone who knows something about the shooting. The shootings reportedly occurred at 8:40 p.m. Saturday.
