Rock County Rage win ahead of Ironman Bowl rematch

WEST ALLIS—Danny Roberts threw two TD passes to Jermar Ayers to lead Rock County to a 34-20 victory over West Allis in a matchup of the final two Ironman Football League undefeated teams Saturday night.

Roberts hit Ayers with a 45-yard score on the final play of the first half to put the Rage ahead 20-12.

Ayers caught a 27-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to conclude the Rock County scoring.

Ayers caught six passes for 179 yards.

Roberts completed 12 of 21 passes for 257 yards and four TDs. Kyle Marty caught a 1-yard TD pass, and Brandon Tobias added a 5-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter.

Andrew Worden added a 1-yard scoring run and finished with 97 yards on 12 carries.

Nick Hammon had three sacks, while Greg Davis had four tackles, a sack and a forced fumble to lead the Rage defense.

Cordell Dixon added four tackles and fumble recovery.

The win puts the Rage at 7-0 and ensures Rock County of homefield advantage through the playoffs.

Rock County plays the final three regular-season games at home. The Rage plays the Milwaukee Hurricanes (6-1) at 6 p.m. next Saturday at Milton High. The game is a rematch of last season's Ironman Bowl title game.
