Benjamin Dickinson, age 34, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born in Janesville, on Jan. 20, 1980, the son of Gregg and Helen (Petry) Dickinson. He graduated from Parker High School and Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, majoring in Economics, Computer Science and Mathematics. Ben played football in both high school and college and loved the game. He was a gentle, fun-loving person who loved cats, especially, Chester and Stuball. He worked as an actuary in Minneapolis, for three years and, then, moved to Melbourne, Australia, to work as an actuary. Along the way, he decided to switch careers and graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia, with a degree in Geology. While in Australia, he learned to surf and love the life. Ben loved to travel, particularly to Southeast Asia, and one year climbed to the base camp of Mt. Everest at 17,000 feet.

Ben is survived by his parents, Gregg and Helen of Janesville; sister, Marty; brother-in-law, Rob, and their two children, Henry and Violet; aunts, Mary Losik, Nina (Hal) Sinclair, Beth (Chris) Keyte, and Jackie Burr; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Inez and Wayne Dickinson and Florence and George Petry.

A Private family service will be held at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, MILTON. Lasting Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, 222 S. Arch St., Janesville, WI 53548.
