August 2, 1946 - July 27, 2014

Sue Ann Flynn, 67, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Born Aug. 2, 1946, in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of Edgar and Mae (Roushorn) Arntzen, Susie, as she liked to be called, spent her childhood years in Escanaba, before moving with her family to Flint, MI, where she married Jerome Patrick (“Pat”) Flynn III at St. Michael Catholic Church. Susie and Pat lived and started their family in southeastern Wisconsin, before moving to Canton, MI, in 1977. While in Canton, Susie earned her Associates Degree in Dental Technology and became the Office Manager for Dr. Henry Pinkney, DDS. There, she assisted with the planning and construction of the current office building and initiated their first computerized office management system. In 1993, Susie and Pat relocated to Louisville, KY, and were members of Epiphany Catholic Church. Susie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother from 19 years of age until the day she died. She was very involved in her children’s and community activities and very active in the Women’s Club at St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church in Canton. She was involved in multiple civic and social groups including the American Red Cross and pro-life efforts, she was always working in her garden, smiling and sharing stories and rhymes with everyone, and she never hesitated to give of herself.

As the oldest daughter in a family of ten, Susie is survived by her siblings: Gerald (Beth) Arntzen, Peggy Arntzen, Steve Arntzen, Shelley (Jay) Silva, Matthew Arntzen, and Martha (Neil) Bockian. She was preceded in death by her parents; and will see them in heaven along with her brother, Charles; and sisters, Patricia Marie and Mary Nell. Susie and Pat just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary and recently enjoyed two family reunions in Wisconsin, with the Arntzen’s and the Flynn’s in July. Susie will be so greatly missed by her children: Diedre (Rick) Richard of Janesville, Kerri (Ryan) Ladiges of Seattle, WA, and Jerome Patrick (“Jerry”) Flynn IV of Independence, OR. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren: Zach and ZoŽ Richard and Ryker, Tristan and Sophia Leeann Ladiges.

A Traditional Mass will be celebrated at ST. JOHN VIANNEY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in Janesville, WI, at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Donn Heiar officiating.
