This is a sad time for students, parents and staff of the Williams Bay School District. It is a very sad time for my daughter, Breann Vogt, her family and friends. After many years of successful teaching at Williams Bay Elementary School, she has resigned.

She is the smart, creative, friendly, kind, generous, hardworking wife of my son and mother of my grandchildren. I pray for her healing and happiness.

We all agree the words she chose to write on Facebook were inappropriate. She wrote them on her personal Facebook page from home on her personal computer after 9 p.m. on the first night of an extremely stressful week in every school year.

The Williams Bay Police Department and Walworth County Sheriff’s Office determined that no one was in danger.

We all agree the words she chose were inappropriate. I think that taking from June 2 until July 22 to reach a decision about her future was also inappropriate.

As I move through this, I know I have learned about the negative effects of social media and hope others have also.
