Returns spark Rock County Rage win

Rock County used three returns for touchdowns to improve to 6-0 in the Ironman Football League.

The Rage jumped to a 27-8 lead in the first quarter en route to a 50-8 victory at Oshkosh Saturday night.

Ryan Oleson had a 50-yard punt return for a TD in the first quarter and added a 40-yard interception return for another score in the fourth quarter.

Riley Kovars also had a 40-yard interception returns. Kovars finished with three interceptions.

Chris Lester added scoring runs of 1 and 8 yards, and Dan Roberts threw a 21-yard scoring pass to Kyle Marty.

David Kirse wrapped up the scoring with a 22-yard TD pass to Michael Heffner.

Tony Smidl kicked five extra points and a 47-yard field goal.

Rock County rushed for 243 yards on 26 carries.

Justin Vance led the defensive charge with seven tackles, including a sack. DeAndre Harrell, Taylor Snell, Cordell Dixon and Nate Wallman each had seven tackles.

The victory sets up an IFL showdown next Saturday between the league's two undefeated teams. The Rage, who are in the AFC division play at West Allis against the Scorpions who are undefeated in the NFC division.

Rock County then finish out the regular season with three home games.
