Helen F. Diotte, of Janesville, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at home. She was born in Janesville, the daughter of Dr. Charles and Lou (Hayes) Foote. Helen graduated from Janesville High School in 1943, and later, from Marquette University, with a degree from the School of Journalism. A Janesville resident all her life, she married Alfred P. Diotte on June 12, 1948, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Janesville. He died on Dec. 18, 2005. Helen enjoyed baseball, especially the Cubs, the Packers, politics, and reading. Helen was also very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Janesville Country Club, the Janesville Women's Club, a member and past President of the Library Board, Mercy Auxiliary, a volunteer at the Visitors Information Center since its beginning and the YWCA Crisis Line.

Helen is survived by three children: Cathy Scott of Mt. Horeb, WI, Cere (Jerry) Turner of Milton, WI, and Peter (Mary) Diotte of Wauwatosa, WI; three grandchildren: Amy (Steve) Hall of Mt. Horeb, WI, Ryan (Jenny) Steinke of Milton, WI, and Emily (N.J.) Feldner of Madison, WI; five great-grandchildren: Ashley and Scott Hall, Tyler and Matthew Steinke and Tommy Feldner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. Memorials are preferred to Health Net, 23 W.
