Walter R. Krueger, age 83, originally of Milton Junction, then Janesville, passed away early on Wednesday, July 17, 2014. Walter was born Nov. 24, 1930, at home in Milton Junction, WI, to the late Richard and Marie (Clark) Krueger. Sonny, as known to his family, had six siblings. Walter married Mary Sue Flippin at Southside Baptist Church in Janesville. Together they had two daughters, Tammy Krueger and Lisa Krueger-Hess. Walt, as he was known to his co-workers, enjoyed 36 years at the General Motors plant in Janesville, WI, retiring in 1993, to care for his wife. Walter enjoy helping others by volunteering for the Disabled American Veterans, driving patients to and from the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison, and being an active member of 40/8.
Walter is survived by his two children, Tammy Krueger and Lisa Krueger-Hess; three grandchildren: Anthony Hess, Carter Hess and Alaina Hess; four siblings: Emiline "Mickey" Aaberg, Pauline Swaag, Geraldine Rupnow; Dale Krueger; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Krueger; brother, Ed Krueger; and sister, Rosella Church.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
